Golden Hues and Accessible Mechanics: Seiko 5 SNKN62K1, 37 mm, 30 m
Collection
The Seiko SNKN62K1 is part of the Seiko 5 range, one of the most iconic lines in Japanese watchmaking. Launched in 1963, this collection embodies accessible automatics: 37mm case, 21-jewel 7S26 caliber, 30m water resistance. Note: the 7S26 does not feature hacking or manual winding—an intentional characteristic of this entry-level caliber.
Case
The case of the Seiko SNKN62K1 is made of stainless steel, with a diameter of 37 mm and a thickness of 11 mm. The bezel is fixed. The protection of the golden dial is provided by a Hardlex crystal, Seiko's proprietary treatment for light scratches. The case back is exhibition (transparent), allowing the movement to be observed in operation. The water resistance is 30 m, suitable for splashes and rain.
Movement
The Seiko SNKN62K1 is powered by the automatic 7S26 caliber, offering a power reserve of approximately 41 hours. This movement does not feature hacking (stopping the second hand for time setting) or manual winding—two functions intentionally absent from this entry-level caliber. Its accuracy oscillates around ±15 seconds per day, which is expected for an automatic movement in this segment.
Bracelet
The Seiko SNKN62K1 is equipped with a stainless steel bracelet, both robust and easy to maintain, fastened by a folding clasp, which makes it easy to put on and take off the watch while securing the bracelet to the wrist. The lug width is 18 mm.
