Casio Arabic Dial watches: all original models.

If you are looking for a Casio watch with an original and unique dial, you will likely turn to an "Arabic dial." By this, we mean a watch featuring an index with "Eastern" Arabic numerals; as a reminder, the term "Arabic numerals" would more accurately refer to the numbering system we are accustomed to using, i.e., "1, 2, 3, 4...". The term "Indo-Arabic" would therefore be the most appropriate to describe this numbering system, but popular culture has led these watches to take the name "Arabic Dial," a term that resonates with most people.

This unique series is distributed exclusively in the Middle East, which is why you will never see it in shops in Europe or elsewhere. It is no longer in production to this day, which makes it extremely complicated to find anywhere in the world.

All these references may seem incomprehensible at first glance, but by looking closer, it is very easy to decipher them and identify the watch's features from them. Generally, they are composed as follows:

Gender (1) - Series (2) - Strap type (3) - Dial color (4) - Finish (5)

1 - The gender of the watch defines its size, as a women's watch indicated by the "LTP" mention (L for "Ladies") is naturally smaller than an "MTP" model (M for "Men") due to the difference in wrist size between men and women.

2 - In the "Arabic Dial" range, only two series exist: the 1215 and the 1302. The main difference lies in the shape of the case and the bezel; the 1215 series adopts a simpler design with a fairly thin and refined case as well as an extension at the crown, while the 1302 series offers a more imposing and thicker model, with a fluted/grooved bezel that reminds experts of the Datejust and Day-Date models from Rolex.

3 - The type of strap is indicated right after the watch series. In this range, we find the letters "L," "D," "A," or "SG," which define the exact type of strap installed. Leather straps bear the letter L for "Leather," while metal straps bear the letters A (chrome edges), D (chrome center), or SG ("Silver & Gold"), which is identical to the D but with the center chrome in a gold color.

4 - For the dial color, the number 1 (black) or 7 (white, sometimes silver) provides the information.

5 - Finally, the simplest for last: the term "B3" designates the "Arabic Dial" range with its very specific numerals. Generally at Casio, this final number/letter specifies a specific variant or finish: type of numerals, type of index, etc.
