The Silver Seiko 5 SNXS75J1: Automatic 7S26, 37mm Case, 30m Water Resistance
Collection
The Seiko SNXS75J1 belongs to the Seiko 5 series, which has been in continuous production for over six decades. It is one of the rare entry-level automatics that relies on an in-house caliber: the 7S26, which is reliable and low-cost to maintain. It features a 37mm case, 30m water resistance, and an exhibition case back to observe the rotor.
Case
Made of stainless steel, the case of the Seiko SNXS75J1 measures 37mm in diameter and 11mm in thickness. The bezel is fixed. The dial is protected by a Hardlex crystal, a proprietary Seiko treatment for light scratches. The case back is exhibition (transparent), allowing observation of the movement in operation. The water resistance is 30m, suitable for splashes and rain.
Movement
The Seiko SNXS75J1 is powered by the automatic caliber 7S26, offering a power reserve of approximately 41 hours. This movement does not have hacking (second hand stop for time setting) or manual winding — two intentionally absent functions on this entry-level caliber. Its accuracy hovers around ±15 seconds per day, which is expected for an automatic movement in this segment.
Bracelet
The stainless steel bracelet of the Seiko SNXS75J1, secured by a folding clasp, complements the case with coherence. The lug width is 18mm.
