Overview

Fall for this magnificent Seiko 5 SNXS79K1, with an intense black dial with grey reflections and a chrome-plated stainless steel case. It is identical in every way to the SNXS79J1 model, but does not have the "21 JEWELS" mention indicated on the bottom of the dial, which gives it a more sober and uncluttered look.

Case

The case of the SNXS79K1 is made of stainless steel, with a diameter of 37.0mm and a thickness of 12.0mm. The dial is protected by Hardlex, Seiko's proprietary hardened mineral glass: more shock-resistant than standard mineral glass and more flexible than Hardlex. The case back is transparent, offering a view of the movement and its rotor. The lug width is 18 mm.

Movement

At the heart of the SNXS79K1 beats the Seiko 7S26 caliber: 21 jewels, 21,600 alt/h, a power reserve of approximately 41 hours. An iconic Japanese manufacture in the Seiko 5 range since 1996.

Strap

The SNXS79K1 is equipped with a stainless steel bracelet with a folding clasp. The 18 mm lug width makes it easy to replace with a commercially available strap.
