The SSK005K1 case is made of stainless steel, with a diameter of 42.5mm and a thickness of 13.6mm (lug-to-lug: 46.0mm). The dial is protected by Hardlex, Seiko's proprietary hardened mineral glass: more shock-resistant than standard mineral glass and more flexible than sapphire. The case back is transparent, offering a view of the movement and its rotor. The lug width is 22 mm.

The SSK005K1 is powered by the Seiko 4R34 caliber, an automatic GMT manufacture movement, 24 jewels, 21,600 vph, with 41 hours of power reserve.
