Seiko 5 Sports SNXS SRE023K1: Compact Automatic 28mm, 30m, Champagne Dial

The Seiko SRE023K1 is part of the Seiko 5 Sports SNXS range, a more compact version of the collection. It offers the functionalities of the 5 Sports — automatic 2R06 with hacking, exhibition case back — in a thinner 28mm case, suitable for slender wrists as well as preferences for smaller sizes.

Case

The case of the Seiko SRE023K1 is made of stainless steel, with a diameter of 28mm and a thickness of 9.5mm. The bezel is fixed. The Champagne dial is protected by a Hardlex crystal, Seiko's proprietary treatment for light scratches. The case back is exhibition (transparent), allowing the movement to be observed in operation. The water resistance is 30m, suitable for splashes and rain. The indexes and hands are coated with LumiBrite, Seiko's luminescent material for prolonged night readability.

Movement

The Seiko SRE023K1 is powered by the automatic caliber 2R06, offering a power reserve of approximately 40 hours. It incorporates hacking (stop-seconds for precise time setting) and manual winding, two conveniences absent on the previous generation 7S26 caliber. The day-date display is positioned at 3 o'clock.

Strap

The Seiko SRE023K1 is equipped with a stainless steel bracelet, both robust and easy to maintain, fastened by a deployant clasp, which makes it easy to put on and take off the watch while securing the bracelet to the wrist. The lug width is 14mm.
