Case

The case of the Seiko SSA783J1 is made of stainless steel, with a diameter of 40.5 mm and a thickness of 13.1 mm. The bezel is fixed. The brown dial is protected by a sapphire crystal, the most scratch-resistant, with anti-reflective treatment. The case back is exhibition (transparent), allowing observation of the movement in operation. Its water resistance is 50 m, suitable for swimming and splashes.

Movement

The Seiko SSA783J1 is powered by the automatic caliber 4R38, offering a power reserve of approximately 41 hours. It includes hacking (stopping the second hand for precise time setting) and manual winding, two conveniences absent from the previous generation 7S26 caliber. The dial opening reveals the balance wheel and a portion of the gears, making the mechanics directly observable on the wrist.

Strap

The Seiko SSA783J1 is equipped with a leather strap, adding a dressy touch to this model, closed by a deployant buckle, which makes it easy to put on and take off the watch while securing the strap to the wrist. The lug width is 20 mm.
