The Seiko SPB383J1 belongs to the Prospex GMT line, which adds simultaneous dual time zone reading to the collection's diving DNA. The additional GMT hand is read on the 24-hour bezel, housed in a 42mm case that is water resistant to 200m.

Case

The case of the Seiko SPB383J1 is made of stainless steel, with a diameter of 42 mm and a thickness of 13.8 mm. The unidirectional rotating bezel allows for precise measurement of dive times. The black dial is protected by a sapphire crystal, the most scratch-resistant, with an anti-reflective coating. The case back is solid and screwed down. The water resistance is 200 m, compliant with ISO 6425 diving standards. The indexes and hands are coated with LumiBrite, Seiko's luminescent material for prolonged night visibility.

Movement

The Seiko SPB383J1 is powered by the automatic caliber 6R54, offering a power reserve of approximately 72 hours. The 6R caliber is the high-end of Seiko's series automatic movements: it features hacking and manual winding, and offers a significantly higher power reserve than the 4R calibers.

Bracelet

The Seiko SPB383J1 is equipped with a stainless steel bracelet, both robust and easy to maintain, secured by a deployant clasp, which facilitates putting on and taking off the watch while securing the bracelet on the wrist. The lug width is 22 mm.
