Reliability and understated elegance: the Seiko 5 SNK355K1 in silver, 37 mm, 30 m
Collection
The Seiko SNK355K1 is part of the Seiko 5 range, one of the most iconic lines in Japanese watchmaking. Launched in 1963, this collection embodies accessible automatics: a 37 mm case, 21-jewel 7S26 caliber, and 30 m water resistance. Note: the 7S26 does not have hacking or manual winding — an intentional characteristic of this entry-level caliber.
Case
The case of the Seiko SNK355K1 is made of stainless steel, with a diameter of 37 mm and a thickness of 11 mm. The bezel is fixed. The silver dial is protected by Hardlex glass, a proprietary Seiko treatment for light scratches. The case back is exhibition (transparent), allowing observation of the movement in operation. The water resistance is 30 m, suitable for splashes and rain.
Movement
The Seiko SNK355K1 is powered by the automatic 7S26 caliber, offering a power reserve of approximately 41 hours. This movement does not have hacking (stopping the second hand for time setting) or manual winding — two intentionally absent features on this entry-level caliber. Its precision hovers around ±15 seconds per day, which is expected for an automatic movement in this segment.
Bracelet
The Seiko SNK355K1 is equipped with a stainless steel bracelet, both robust and easy to maintain, fastened with a folding clasp, which makes it easy to put on and take off the watch by securing the bracelet to the wrist. The lug width is 18 mm.
