The Gold Seiko 5 SNK792K1: Automatic 7S26, 37 mm, 30 m Water Resistant
Collection
The Seiko SNK792K1 is part of the Seiko 5 range, one of the most iconic lines in Japanese watchmaking. Launched in 1963, this collection embodies accessible automatic watches: a 37 mm case, a 7S26 caliber with 21 jewels, and 30 m water resistance. Note: the 7S26 does not have hacking or manual winding — an intentional feature of this entry-level caliber.
Case
The case of the Seiko SNK792K1 is made of stainless steel, with a diameter of 37 mm and a thickness of 11 mm. The bezel is fixed. The gold dial is protected by a Hardlex crystal, Seiko's proprietary treatment for light scratches. The case back is exhibition (transparent), allowing the movement to be observed in operation. The water resistance is 30 m, suitable for splashes and rain.
Movement
The Seiko SNK792K1 is powered by the automatic caliber 7S26, offering a power reserve of approximately 41 hours. This movement does not have hacking (seconds hand stops for time setting) or manual winding — two functions intentionally absent on this entry-level caliber. Its accuracy fluctuates around ±15 seconds per day, which is expected for an automatic movement in this segment.
Strap
The Seiko SNK792K1 is equipped with a stainless steel bracelet, which is both robust and easy to maintain, fastened by a deployment clasp, which makes putting on and taking off the watch easy while securing the bracelet to the wrist. The lug width is 18 mm.
