The Gold Seiko 5 SNKK13J1: Automatic 7S26, 37mm, 30m Water Resistant
Collection
The Seiko SNKK13J1 is part of the Seiko 5 range, one of the most iconic lines in Japanese watchmaking. Launched in 1963, this collection embodies accessible automatic watches: 37mm case, 7S26 caliber with 21 jewels, 30m water resistance. Note: the 7S26 does not feature hacking or manual winding — an intentional characteristic of this entry-level caliber.
Case
The case of the Seiko SNKK13J1 is made of stainless steel, with a diameter of 37 mm and a thickness of 11 mm. The bezel is fixed. The gold dial is protected by a Hardlex crystal, Seiko's proprietary treatment for light scratches. The case back is an exhibition (transparent) type, allowing observation of the movement in operation. Its water resistance is 30m, suitable for splashes and rain.
Movement
The Seiko SNKK13J1 is powered by the automatic caliber 7S26, offering a power reserve of approximately 41 hours. This movement does not feature hacking (stopping the second hand for precise time setting) nor manual winding — two functions intentionally absent on this entry-level caliber. Its accuracy fluctuates around ±15 seconds per day, which is expected for an automatic movement in this segment.
Bracelet
The Seiko SNKK13J1 is equipped with a stainless steel bracelet, both robust and easy to maintain, fastened by a deployant clasp, which facilitates putting on and removing the watch by securing the bracelet to the wrist. The lug width is 18 mm.
