Launched in 1963, this collection embodies accessible automatics: 37mm case, 21-jewel 7S26 caliber, 30m water resistance. Note: the 7S26 does not have hacking or manual winding—an intentional characteristic of this entry-level caliber.

Case

The case of the Seiko SNKL79K1 is made of stainless steel, with a diameter of 37 mm and a thickness of 11 mm. The bezel is fixed. The blue dial is protected by Hardlex glass, a proprietary Seiko treatment for light scratches. The case back is exhibition (transparent), allowing observation of the movement in operation. The water resistance is 30 m, suitable for splashes and rain.

Movement

The Seiko SNKL79K1 is powered by the automatic caliber 7S26, offering a power reserve of approximately 41 hours. This movement does not have hacking (stopping the second hand for time setting) or manual winding—two functions intentionally absent on this entry-level caliber. Its accuracy hovers around ±15 seconds per day, which is expected for an automatic movement in this segment.

Strap

The Seiko SNKL79K1 is equipped with a stainless steel bracelet, which is both robust and easy to maintain, fastened by a folding clasp, which makes it easy to put on and take off the watch by securing the bracelet to the wrist. The lug width is 18 mm.
