The Seiko SNKP17K1 belongs to the Seiko 5 series, which has been produced continuously for over six decades. It is one of the few entry-level automatics to rely on an in-house caliber: the reliable and low-maintenance 7S26. 37mm case, 30m water resistance, exhibition case back to observe the rotor.

Case

Made of stainless steel, the case of the Seiko SNKP17K1 measures 37mm in diameter and 11mm in thickness. The bezel is fixed. The dial is protected by Hardlex crystal, Seiko's proprietary treatment for light scratches. The case back is exhibition (transparent), allowing the movement in operation to be observed. The water resistance is 30m, suitable for splashes and rain.

Movement

The Seiko SNKP17K1 is powered by the automatic caliber 7S26, offering a power reserve of approximately 41 hours. This movement does not have hacking (seconds hand stop for setting the time) or manual winding — two functions intentionally absent on this entry-level caliber. Its accuracy oscillates around ±15 seconds per day, which is expected for an automatic movement in this segment.

Strap

The stainless steel bracelet of the Seiko SNKP17K1, secured by a deployant clasp, complements the case consistently. The lug width is 18mm.
