The Seiko SRP605J2 belongs to the Seiko 5 Sports collection, revamped in 2019. Compared to the classic Seiko 5, the new generation features the 4R36 caliber with hacking (stop-seconds function) and manual winding, an exhibition case back, 100m water resistance, and an interchangeable strap system. The case measures 42.5 mm.

Case

The case of the Seiko SRP605J2 is made of stainless steel, with a diameter of 42.5 mm and a thickness of 13 mm. The unidirectional rotating bezel allows for precise measurement of dive times. The blue dial is protected by a Hardlex crystal, Seiko's proprietary treatment for light scratches. The case back is exhibition (transparent), allowing observation of the movement in operation. The water resistance is 100 m, sufficient for swimming and snorkeling. The indexes and hands are coated with LumiBrite, Seiko's luminescent material for extended nighttime legibility.

Movement

The Seiko SRP605J2 is powered by the automatic caliber 4R36, offering a power reserve of approximately 41 hours. It incorporates hacking (stop-seconds function for precise time setting) and manual winding, two conveniences absent on the previous generation 7S26 caliber. The day-date display is positioned at 3 o'clock.

Strap

The Seiko SRP605J2 is equipped with a rubber strap, flexible and resistant to water and perspiration, closed by a classic and easy-to-adjust pin buckle. The lug width is 22 mm.
