The Seiko SRPL59K1 is part of the Seiko 5 Sports SNXS range, a more compact version of the collection. It offers the functionalities of the 5 Sports — automatic 4R36 with hacking, exhibition case back — in a slimmer 42.5mm case, suitable for slender wrists as well as preferences for smaller formats.

Case

The case of the Seiko SRPL59K1 is made of stainless steel, with a diameter of 42.5 mm and a thickness of 13 mm. The unidirectional rotating bezel allows for precise measurement of dive times. The gold dial is protected by a Hardlex crystal, Seiko's proprietary treatment for light scratches. The case back is exhibition (transparent), allowing the movement to be observed in operation. The water resistance is 100 m, sufficient for swimming and snorkeling. The indexes and hands are coated with LumiBrite, Seiko's luminescent material for extended nighttime legibility.

Movement

The Seiko SRPL59K1 is powered by the automatic caliber 4R36, offering a power reserve of approximately 41 hours. It incorporates hacking (stop seconds for precise time setting) and manual winding, two conveniences absent on the previous generation 7S26 caliber. The day-date display is positioned at 3 o'clock.

Bracelet

The Seiko SRPL59K1 is equipped with a stainless steel bracelet, both robust and easy to maintain, fastened by a deployant clasp, which makes it easy to put on and take off the watch while securing the bracelet to the wrist. The lug width is 22 mm.
