The Seiko SBTR023 belongs to the Spirit line, sold in Japan. This 8T67 quartz chronograph features a well-constructed blue dial, a 44mm case, and 100m water resistance. Its JDM (Japan Domestic Market) designation explains its lower visibility in Europe despite its quality finishes.

Case

Made of stainless steel, the case of the Seiko SBTR023 measures 44 mm in diameter and 11.2 mm thick. The bezel is fixed. The dial is protected by Hardlex glass, a proprietary Seiko treatment that resists light scratches. The case back is solid screw-down. Water resistance is 100m, sufficient for swimming and snorkeling.

Movement

The Seiko SBTR023 is equipped with the 8T67 quartz caliber, with a battery life of approximately 3 years. This caliber includes a chronograph function with a minute counter and a dedicated small seconds sub-dial. The 8T67 differs from the 8T63 by its increased precision: ±10 seconds per month compared to ±15 for its predecessor.

Strap

The stainless steel bracelet of the Seiko SBTR023, secured by a folding clasp, consistently complements the case. The lug width is 22 mm.
