No battery, no spring: Seiko Kinetic generates electricity from wrist movements
Introduction
The Seiko Kinetic SKA783 men's watch combines elegance and technology. It features a round 42 mm diameter and 11 mm thick stainless steel case, with a fixed bezel and a blue dial. The silver hands and indices are luminescent for good readability. A date function is located at 3 o'clock. The Kinetic movement ensures high precision. The Hardlex crystal is scratch-resistant, and the case back is transparent. The 22 mm stainless steel bracelet closes with a deployment clasp. The watch is water-resistant up to 100 meters, ideal for daily wear.
Seiko's Kinetic movement merges automatic and quartz technology to offer a self-powered watch. By converting wrist movements into electricity, it guarantees quartz precision without requiring a battery. This innovative, durable, and ecological system allows for a long power reserve, often several months.
Case
The case of the SKA783P1 is made of stainless steel, with a diameter of 42.6mm and a thickness of 11.2mm. A Seiko Hardlex crystal covers the dial. This thermally hardened mineral crystal is more shock-resistant than ordinary mineral crystal, while remaining polishable if necessary. The lug width is 20 mm.
Movement
The SKA783P1 is powered by Seiko's Kinetic 5M82 caliber: a rotor converts wrist energy into electricity, powering a quartz regulator without any battery.
Bracelet
The SKA783P1 comes with a stainless steel bracelet, secured by a deployment clasp whose two push-buttons prevent accidental opening. The lug width is 20 mm.
