The checkered dial of the Seiko 5: the most unusual model in the range, with an exhibition case back
Introduction
The Seiko 5 SNXF05K1 is unique and atypical, to say the least. Its white dial is checkered with fine grey lines, forming squares that contrast with the roundness of the case. This variant drastically changes from the plain backgrounds generally found on Seiko 5s, and we certainly don't mind! It's no wonder that this SNXF05K1 is a great success with a large number of watch enthusiasts.
Case
The case of the SNXF05K1 is made of stainless steel, with a diameter of 37.0mm and a thickness of 12.0mm. The dial is protected by a Hardlex crystal, Seiko's proprietary thermal treatment that improves the shock and scratch resistance of standard mineral crystal. The case back is transparent, allowing the calibre to be admired from the outside. The lug width is 18 mm.
Movement
The SNXF05K1 is equipped with the Seiko 7S26 automatic calibre (21 jewels, 21,600 alt/h), with a power reserve of approximately 41 hours. This manufacture movement recharges exclusively by wearing the watch.
Bracelet
The SNXF05K1 comes with a stainless steel bracelet, secured by a folding clasp whose two push-buttons prevent any accidental opening. The lug width is 18 mm.
