Seiko Automatic Alpinist: heir to 1961, 70-hour manufacture movement, sapphire crystal
Introduction
The Seiko SPB121J1 is the heir to Seiko's legendary Alpinist watch range, launched in 1961. In 2006, the fifth generation of the Alpinist introduced significant improvements, with a 6R35 automatic movement offering a 70-hour power reserve. This watch, measuring 39.5 mm in diameter and water-resistant to 200 meters, represents a perfect balance between tradition and innovation, while retaining the iconic Alpinist aesthetic.
Case
The case of the SPB121J1 is made of stainless steel, with a diameter of 39.5mm and a thickness of 13.2mm (lug-to-lug: 46.4mm). The dial is protected by a sapphire crystal with a hardness of 9 Mohs, impervious to everyday scratches. The case back is solid, contributing to the case's water resistance. The lug width is 8 mm.
Movement
The SPB121J1 is powered by the Seiko 6R35 automatic manufacture caliber, with 24 jewels, 21,600 alt/h, an accuracy of +25/-15 s/day and a power reserve of 70 hours.

The SPB121J1 is fitted with a leather strap, fastened by a folding clasp.
